In this game, you take control of an unnamed space marine who has been sent to explore, fight, and survive in various hostile environments. You must battle monsters through different levels while collecting weapons. As you progress, you also find keys that can be used to open doors or secret passages.

PrBoom offers two different types of difficulty settings: Ultra-Violence Mode and Nightmare Mode. The higher the difficulty setting, the more powerful the monsters become. You can also choose to play with or without monsters.
