ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Access approximate location (network-based) only in the foreground Textfree can get your location based on network sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi networks, but only when when Textfree is in the foreground. These location services must be turned on and available on your tablet for Textfree to be able to use them.

AUTHENTICATE_ACCOUNTS

Create accounts and set passwords Allows Textfree to use the account authenticator capabilities of the AccountManager, including creating accounts and getting and setting their passwords.

CALL_PHONE

Directly call phone numbers Allows Textfree to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow Textfree to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

GET_ACCOUNTS

Find accounts on the device Allows Textfree to get the list of accounts known by the tablet. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

MANAGE_ACCOUNTS

Add or remove accounts Allows Textfree to perform operations like adding and removing accounts, and deleting their password.

READ_CALL_LOG

Read call log Textfree can read your call history.

READ_CONTACTS

Read your contacts Allows Textfree to read data about your contacts stored on your tablet. This permission allows Textfree to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Read the contents of your shared storage Allows Textfree to read the contents of your shared storage.

READ_PHONE_STATE

Read phone status and identity Allows Textfree to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows Textfree to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

READ_SMS

Read your text messages (SMS or MMS) Textfree can read all SMS (text) messages stored on your tablet.

RECEIVE_MMS

Receive text messages (MMS) Allows Textfree to receive and process MMS messages. This means Textfree could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

WRITE_SMS

Edit your text messages (SMS or MMS) Allows Textfree to write to SMS messages stored on your tablet or SIM card. Malicious apps may delete your messages.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

View network connections Allows Textfree to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

View Wi-Fi connections Allows Textfree to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE

Allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception Allows Textfree to receive packets sent to all devices on a Wi-Fi network using multicast addresses, not just your tablet. It uses more power than the non-multicast mode.

DISABLE_KEYGUARD

Disable your screen lock Allows Textfree to disable the keylock and any associated password security. For example, the phone disables the keylock when receiving an incoming phone call, then re-enables the keylock when the call is finished.

GET_TASKS

Retrieve running apps Allows Textfree to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. This may allow Textfree to discover information about which applications are used on the device.

INTERNET

Have full network access Allows Textfree to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS

Change your audio settings Allows Textfree to modify global audio settings such as volume and which speaker is used for output.

READ_SYNC_SETTINGS

Read sync settings Allows Textfree to read the sync settings for an account. For example, this can determine whether the People app is synced with an account.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Run at startup Allows Textfree to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the tablet and allow Textfree to slow down the overall tablet by always running.

VIBRATE

Control vibration Allows Textfree to control the vibrator.

WAKE_LOCK

Keep car screen turned on Allows Textfree to keep the car screen turned on.

WRITE_SETTINGS

Modify system settings Allows Textfree to modify the system's settings data. Malicious apps may corrupt your system's configuration.

WRITE_SYNC_SETTINGS

Toggle sync on and off Allows Textfree to modify the sync settings for an account. For example, this can be used to enable sync of the People app with an account.
