AUTHENTICATE_ACCOUNTS

Create accounts and set passwords Allows Open Tel to use the account authenticator capabilities of the AccountManager, including creating accounts and getting and setting their passwords.

CALL_PHONE

Directly call phone numbers Allows Open Tel to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow Open Tel to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

GET_ACCOUNTS

Find accounts on the device Allows Open Tel to get the list of accounts known by the tablet. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

MANAGE_ACCOUNTS

Add or remove accounts Allows Open Tel to perform operations like adding and removing accounts, and deleting their password.

PROCESS_OUTGOING_CALLS

Reroute outgoing calls Allows Open Tel to see the number being dialed during an outgoing call with the option to redirect the call to a different number or abort the call altogether.

READ_CALL_LOG

Read call log Open Tel can read your call history.

READ_CONTACTS

Read your contacts Allows Open Tel to read data about your contacts stored on your tablet. This permission allows Open Tel to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Read the contents of your shared storage Allows Open Tel to read the contents of your shared storage.

READ_PHONE_STATE

Read phone status and identity Allows Open Tel to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows Open Tel to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

READ_PROFILE

Read your own contact card Allows Open Tel to read personal profile information stored on your device, such as your name and contact information. This means Open Tel can identify you and may send your profile information to others.

READ_SMS

Read your text messages (SMS or MMS) Open Tel can read all SMS (text) messages stored on your tablet.

RECEIVE_SMS

Receive text messages (SMS) Allows Open Tel to receive and process SMS messages. This means Open Tel could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

RECORD_AUDIO

Record audio Open Tel can record audio using the microphone at any time.

WRITE_CALL_LOG

Write call log Allows Open Tel to modify your tablet's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. Malicious apps may use this to erase or modify your call log.

WRITE_CONTACTS

Modify your contacts Allows Open Tel to modify the data about your contacts stored on your tablet. This permission allows Open Tel to delete contact data.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Modify or delete the contents of your shared storage Allows Open Tel to write the contents of your shared storage.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

View network connections Allows Open Tel to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

View Wi-Fi connections Allows Open Tel to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

BLUETOOTH

Pair with Bluetooth devices Allows Open Tel to view the configuration of Bluetooth on the tablet, and to make and accept connections with paired devices.

BLUETOOTH_ADMIN

Access Bluetooth settings Allows Open Tel to configure the local Bluetooth tablet, and to discover and pair with remote devices.

BROADCAST_STICKY

Send sticky broadcast Allows Open Tel to send sticky broadcasts, which remain after the broadcast ends. Excessive use may make the tablet slow or unstable by causing it to use too much memory.

DISABLE_KEYGUARD

Disable your screen lock Allows Open Tel to disable the keylock and any associated password security. For example, the phone disables the keylock when receiving an incoming phone call, then re-enables the keylock when the call is finished.

INTERNET

Have full network access Allows Open Tel to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS

Change your audio settings Allows Open Tel to modify global audio settings such as volume and which speaker is used for output.

READ_SYNC_SETTINGS

Read sync settings Allows Open Tel to read the sync settings for an account. For example, this can determine whether the People app is synced with an account.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Run at startup Allows Open Tel to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the tablet and allow Open Tel to slow down the overall tablet by always running.

VIBRATE

Control vibration Allows Open Tel to control the vibrator.

WAKE_LOCK

Keep car screen turned on Allows Open Tel to keep the car screen turned on.

WRITE_SYNC_SETTINGS

Toggle sync on and off Allows Open Tel to modify the sync settings for an account. For example, this can be used to enable sync of the People app with an account.
